About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How Long in Location Before China?

Would the following itinerary work? I am not sure whether the length I am in Hong Kong creates a problem - do I need to stay the night?

London to Hong Kong (stay in Hong Kong for 7 hours)
7 hours later, fly from HK to Beijing
36 hours later, fly from Beijing to London

Is this ok? Many thanks in advance

You don't even need to leave the aircraft. As soon as the wheels touch down in Hong Kong you're fine. Just make sure that your Beijing to London flight is also not via Hong Kong (or any city in mainland China).
