About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 Hour transit visa/visit

I’m flying from Tokyo to Beijing a 21 hour overnight layover, but I want to visit my friend in Beijing. Do I need to apply for a transit visa? And if so, where would I do so, before arriving in Beijing or after?

If the next country after Beijing is not Japan, you can use free transit policy after arrival. No need to apply for a visa for that.
