Requirements for Z Visa with purpose of volonteering

I have an invitation from a Chinese small organization and wish to stay as volunteer for a considerable amount of time. The F seems to be most suitable, but allows up to 90 days only. I read that the work class Z has certain requirements, such as bachelors degree or above, 2 years working experience etc.

Are these requirements applying to 'simple' volunteer work as well? (Note that there is a specific alternative to chose "volunteering" when filling out the online visa application after choosing type Z.)

Hi, I don't think you have to apply for work Z type for that. You can contact the visa office to inquire if you can get a visit L type or long term F type for that.
