About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

looking to visit

I get standby flights from American airlines and i was wanting to stop in hong kong before continuing on to Malaysia. Since its standby i do not have a guaranteed seat until the flight is departing but I will have a confirmed seat on a paid flight from hong kong to Malaysia. Can I do the 72 hours free transit? also can i check out other cities like Macau during the 72 hours?

if not how can i get a travel visa without a confirmed arrival ticket but will have a confirmed departure ticket.

thanks

You don't need to apply for visa for HK or Macau. Don't worry.
