Confused about my realy chinese zodiac sign

All along, I thought i was a Tiger but just last year when I had a chinese colleague who’s father practices feng shui, I just learner that i am an “OX” and not a Tiger.How did that happen? I was born in January 31, 1986 and most of my batch mates with same year are all Tigers.
