About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi I have a 8 hour layover in shanghai in august 2019 landing at 5:30pm .

We are travelling from South Korea then onwards to the UK. Hopefully this means we qualify for the 24 hour visa free travel. Can suggest an evening tour in shanghai that will give us plenty of time to get back for our flight. Many thanks

You are eligible for the 24 hour transit, however with 8 hour layover the odds of being able to actually leave the airport are slim. Shanghai immigration has been requiring people to spend the time in the airport on stops that do not require a hotel stay.

I did 8 hours several years ago. There was only enough time to take Maglev train to the subway to the Bund, walked around a but, had dinner and then went back to the airport the same way I went in.
