About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I use twov?

Traveling from Vietnam to Chongqing then to New York. My flight from vietnam includes a,short connection in hunan, then on to Chongqing. Then from Chongqing to Shanghai to New York. Can I use the 72 hour free transit ?

The short connection means you cannot have 72 hour transit. It limits you to the 24 hour transit. Hunan > Chongqing is considered a domestic flight which is not allowed on a transit without visa.

I missed Shanghai as well that makes it 3 landings and only 1 is allowed in mainland china.
