About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Kuala Lumpur > Beijing (from Feb 7th to Feb 11th) >Chengdu (2hrs stopover) > Auckland

Can I apply to the 144hrs twov if I have a stopover at Chengdu on the way to Auckland?

No. It has to be Beijing to a third country (other than Malaysia) then to Auckland, or Beijing-Auckland nonstop.
