About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I'm Thai travelling from Barcelona to Bangkok and will have 19 hours (with Free transit Hotel)

The Travel Agent told me I need VISA.

I take Air China and will arrive 5.50am at Shanghai
Then my next flight is same day but 11PM to Bangkok.

The airline offer free transit hotel.

Could you please assure me I need entry permit or not.

I think you can get 24h twov in Shanghai. You can check with the Shanghai immigration about that.

Do you have hotel reserved in advance. I think Air China only covers hotel if overnight stop. This is day time stop. It will be up to immigration discretion is you can leave airport. So no guarantee.

Air China offer free hotel when arriving before 6am Lucky me my flight arrive 5.50am
Even not overnight, I already got hotel confirmation from Air China.
