About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I've a stopover in Shanghai from Narita to HK. I've a Chinese visa for later on. Can I save it?

My flight stops in Shanghai from Narita to Hong Kong, where I'll be staying for a month.
I have a 2 entry visa to China on my (Mexican) passport for two longer visits we planned for later on this same trip. I would like to NOT have one of them used up during my stopover entry, but am not sure that the immigration officer will not consider this stopover as "visit 1".
I am grateful for any advice. Thanks!

Just tell the immigration that you'll use the twov on this transit and need to save your visa for later.
