About:Japan Airlines

72 hour free transit visa in both Shanghai and Beijing?

I have a UK passport and plan to fly London to Shanghai, stay 2 nights then fly to Japan for 2 weeks. On my return I hoped to fly Tokyo to Beijing, stay 2 nights, then fly to Hong Kong before returning to London. Will my short visits to both Shanghai and Beijing be covered by the free 72 (or even 144) hour free transit?
