About:China Student Visa

Internship. Hello everyone,

I'm currently studying in Shanghai, next semester I would like to do an internship. Does anyone know the requirements for applying for an internship visa? Does it differ for an X1 and X2?

I cannot find a list of all the documents I need on the internet. I in particular need to know if I need to ask my school for documents.

Thank you in advance!

Hi, if it's a paid internship, you are supposed to apply for a work Z instead of student X type. You can check the detailed information from the official website of the visa office.

Yes, it is an unpaid internship. I can apply for this with a X, I just don't know the exact requirements and the differences between X1 and X2.

If you have X1, you can apply for Chinese residence permit after entry, which has multiple entries within its validity. But you cannot get it under X2. To apply for X type, you need to prepare the relevant documents including your passport and its copy, the application form, passport-style photo, admission letter and JW form from the school as well as the physical examination record as well as others.

Hello Amy, I already have the resident permit and went through this procedure. Now I want to add an internship permission to my resident permit. I don’t know how this procedure exactly goes and what documents I need.
