About:China Visa Fees

Visa or 24ht twov

Arriving in Shanghai on cruise ship from Singapore via Hong Kong. Staying on ship for the return voyage to Singapore via Hong Kong. Ship only in Shanghai for 12/14 hours. UK passport. Does this qualify me for visa exemption under the 24/72hour waiver or do I have to pay over 1700 hk dollars for entry permit?

If your travel route would be Singapore-Shanghai-HK or HK-Shanghai-Singapore, you can use the free transit policy in Shanghai then.
