About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Liaoning

Transit Visa to change airports from Beijing Capital Airport to Shanghai Pudong Airport

If I arrive to Beijing Capital Airport and decided to go Shanghai Pudong Airport, do I need a transit visa to leave the airport and change the airport for US citizens and stay 144-hours before registration through the police station within 24 hours if staying in the hotel or with their families?

You will need a Tourist (L) visa for this. You cannot travel between Beijing and Shanghai on a 144 hour transit. You cannot cross over between the two transit areas.
