Australia -> Shenzhen > Vietnam allows up to 24 hours in Shenzhen as long as it's the only stop.

for Vietnam -> Shanghai -> Australia you can stay for up to 144 hours as long as it's the only stop. If you have landing elsewhere in China you are limited to 24 hours in China
