About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does this qualify for the 144 hr visa?

Landing in Shenzhen March 4, 2019 from Australia for a 12 hr layover. Fly from Shenzhen to Beijing with 51 hours on ground in Beijing. Than fly to USA on March 7th.

You need a visa for China because you have two stops, which limits you to 24 hours transit without visa.

What if we do not leave the airport in Shenzhen?

It doesn't matter. The 24-hour period starts from scheduled arrival time and ends at scheduled departure time. There's also no way for you to not leave the airport as you must clear immigration in Shenzhen.
