About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Tour to Terracotta Army

We are coming from Hong Kong off a Regent Cruise this group tour to the Terracotta Army goes through Xi'an. Does this require individual Visa for each group member or is the 144 hr twov applicable. The tour duration is less than 144 hours.

Xi'an currently participates in 72 hour transit without visa. Whether you qualify depends on where you are flying to Xi'an from and where you go next. If you fly non-stop from Hong Kong to Xi'an and then to non-stop to a different country (not HK either) then you can stay in Xi'an for up to 72 hours.

We are flying from Hong Kong to Xi'an and then from Xi'an to Hong Kong and our stay is less than 72 hours. Thank you for the information

You need a tourist visa because you're not in transit at Xi'an. You're visiting China.
