What is the weather like around January??

I wanted to ask what is the weather like around January?? And what do you recommend as a must have for us to pack? ? We intend to visit great wall, forbidden city in Beijing and also Guilin and Yangshuo.

It is Winter in China and it is quite cold in most places. You are suggested to wear thermal underwear, a woolen sweater and a down coat to protect you from the chilly climate. Warm gloves, a scarf, hat and mask are also indispensable. If visiting the Great Wall in suburban Beijing after a snowfall, you may have to wear additional layers to keep you warm. Prepare a pair of warm shoes or boots with a sturdy grip on the soles. Guilin and Yangshuo are a bit warmer than other places during the tour, but Winter clothes are still needed.
