About:Xian to Shanghai High Speed Train

what's the difference in first & second class seats on G train (high speed) Shanghai-Xian?

i see there is a price difference, what is the seating/service like in the two different classes?

The service is the same, just the seats are different. First class has 4 seats in each row, 2 on each side and the seats are more comfortable. You have more leg room. Second class has 5 seats in each row, 2 one one side and 3 on the other side. The seat is little smaller than first class and less leg room offered. You can find some photos on this website.
