About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I apply for 72 hour visa?

I am travelling from Melbourne AU to Kunming and arrive at 5AM then 4 hours later I am taking a plane to Shanghai and will leave shanghai a day later at 11:30 AM.

MEL-KUNMING 0500 15th
KUNMING-SHA 1100 15th
SHA-NYC(USA) 1100 16th

It looks like it’s over 24 hours but this is what the airline booked for me. Thank you

24 hours total from first landing in China. While the airline did allow you to book, its up to you to have the necessary visa to accept the booking. You will need a tourist (L) for this itinerary.
