Visiting visa to a study visa

My entire family is currently in china and so am I.. My dad is a teacher as well as my mum and my brothers study in china as well..i am currently using a s2 visiting but would like to change it to a study X as i recently got accepted to study in china so my question is can i change my entry permit to a study X while still in china or do I have to go back to the country I came from ?

You can try to apply for the conversion at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can succeed, you don’t need to go back to your home country for that. Just give it a try!
