About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How can I apply for the 24 FREE transit visa?

Hello all,

I am from Guatemala Central America holding a guatemalan passport and I`ll be visiting India in March 2019 and coming back to United States on April the 6th, however, as I am flying with Air China, my flight has a 20 hour layover in Shangai or either Pekin; which is why I`d like to know if I can be eligible for the FREE transit on my departure flight from LAX and my return one as well so that I can step out of the airport for some hours and so some sightseeing. Please be so kind to let me know how I can get that in Guatemala City where I am now. I intend to fly to the USA on March 8th to catch my flight to DELHI. Your response is CRUCIAL for me to decide/determine which schedule flight to purchase. Thanks.

If your trip would be India-Shanghai or Beijing-USA, USA-Shanghai or Beijing-India, you can get the 24h twov in China. But if your layover city would be Shanghai, you might need to provide the hotel reservation, and you would be able to leave the airport.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you so much for replying to my question. My itinerary is Los Angeles (United States) to Shangai (I have a almost 22 hour layover in Shangai) and then, leaving around 2 PM from Shangai to Delhi. I wouldn`t have a hotel reservation because I`d be staying at a fiend`s house who`s hosting me for the day, do you think that having his address would be enough for that matter? please be so kind to reply as it is very important for me. I am under the impression based on what you said, that I will NOT be needing a visa as I can opt in for the 24-hour free transit visa. Would you please be so kind to confirm that information? thanks for your support :D

If you want to leave the airport, then it is up to the immigration officer and what "policy" they have in store that day. In some cases, people were let in when they showed their hotel booking confirmations. So I cannot guarantee that if you can leave the airport or not. Good luck.
