About:Taiwan Travel

Travelling to Taiwan January 31 to February 14 2019

My partner and I are flying into Taipei on January 31 and flying out of Taipei on February 14. We are hoping to do a round island tour, and would especially like to visit Hualien, Kenting, and Kaohsiung. We are aware that places and transportation may be closed around/during Chinese New Year. We aim to travel across Taiwan primarily by train.

Are we best to stay in Taipei during Chinese New Year, or will trains out of Taipei still be running?

Please suggest a suitable itinerary and budget hotels for 2 persons around Taiwan for 14 days.

Yes, you are advised to stay in Taipei and visit some attractions in Taipei or nearby, because most people will travel to south and it would be crowded in the railway station, bus station and attraction in southern region during the Chinese New Year. The trains out of Taipei are stilling running at that time but you’d better book the tickets in advance.
