About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Visit to Guangzhou from Hong Kong via train to visit friend

I am an Australian citizen and I intend to take the train from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to visit a friend for 2 nights to have a look around Friday to Sunday getting train back to Hong Kong. Do I still need a visa for this? I will stay with my friend in Guangzhou
