About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Residence Permit to Work Visa

Hi there,

I currently hold a residence permit for studying in Shanghai. This will expire 31 JANUARY 2019. Does this type of visa also allow me to work?

If not, how easy is it to change to a work Z and what are the requirements for that work Z?

You cannot work under a student X type. To apply the change, you should prepare the relevant documents including your passport and its copy, the application form, a passport-style photo, valid registration form of temporary residence and work permit from your employer. Then, submit the application to the local PSB.
