Can I use L type visa to enter hongkong & PRC?

I applied for visit entry permit to hongkong, is it possible for me to go to Shanghai with the same visa during my stay in hongkong?

You cannot use HK visit visa to enter mainland China. You need a mainland Chinese tourist L type for that.
