VISA China required for transit?

Flight Amsterdam Melbourne via China
21 DEC AMS-Beijing arr PEK 09.55#

I think you'll start in AMS at Dec 21 and arrive in PEK at Dec 22 at 09.55?

If so your transit time in China is 08H and 20 min. and you don't need any kind of visa.
But if you arrive at Dec 21 in PEK you need a visa as your transit time is 32h and 20 min.
