About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

NZ passport holder/Ugandan resident in Beijing for 48 hours

I am traveling Uganda to Malaysia, Malaysia to Beijing for two days of meetings and then flying back to Uganda. I am using Malaysian airlines in and Emirates out, can I get a transit visa on arrival and leave the airport?

No. You are supposed to apply for a transit visa for that trip beforehand.

Malaysia-Beijing-UAE is fine for 144 hours transit without visa on a New Zealand passport. The flights to/from Uganda are irrelevant to Chinese immigration.
