Partner visa?

My boyfriend and I are both Canadian citizens and retired teachers. He is now teaching in China. I am able to visit him for 2 months at a time with my current visa. He has asked me to move there to live with him next year. I would probably like to supply teach and/or tutor while there. I am financially independent so do not have to work. Can I get a "partner visa" without being legally married to him? What type of entry pemit should I apply for? Once there, I could look for work, and then later apply for a work Z if I find employment.

You cannot get a "partner visa" without marriage certificate. If you can get a work in mainland China, you can apply for a work Z type for that then.
