Question

Greetings,I would like to do the Silk Road during spring festival 2019, would you recommend or advise against? Im mostly worried about not obtaining train tickets throughout the provinces in order to reach my final destination (Xinjiang).I would begin in Shenzhen, travel by bus and train and fly back to SZ via Yining? Urumqi?Dates are 30JAN/10FEBMany thanks

It is no problem to do the Silk Road during Spring Festival and you may enjoy the beautiful snow-covered landscape during the tour. But in recent years, Spring Festival is also the peak travel season for Chinese people. Therefore, you need to plan your trip and book the train tickets in advance. Besides, you are suggested to wear layers of clothes because the average temperatures of most cities along the Silk Road are below -10℃ (14℉) in February.Although there are flights to Shenzhen from either Yining city or Urumqi, I still suggest you fly back to Shenzhen from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport for more flights and less time on the way.
