Is bank statement is necessary to apply for the student visa from Pakistan ?

I have all the documents including the admission letter and jw202 original but the Embassy reception asked me to bring the bank statement. What should I do ? Previously there wasn’t any concept of bank statement to apply for a student X for China . Please help .

If you are required to provide that by the consular officer, you need to prepare it. You can provide bank statement, bank savings account, salary slip or work certificate as your financial support proof.
