Dear Sir,We have American passports, are flying out of Canada into China enroute to Thailand. We have a 7 hr. layover in China....Do we qualify for a free 24 hr. twov?Thank you for your time...

Yes that is fine. Depending on which city you may have to stay at the airport. Shanghai for example will require you too stay at airport under 8 hours. Beijing more likely to let you visit the city during the stop if you wanted to.
