About:China Transit Visa

Transit from Hong Kong to Gungzhou airport

I hold an Australian passport and am a Permanent Resident of Hong Kong. I don't have a current Chinese visa.

I will be travelling by rail from Hong Kong to Guangzhou, and immediately boarding a flight from Guangzhou to another country. Do I need to apply for a G in advance, or can I get free transit at the Mainland border on arrival? many thanks.

If the total layover time in Guangzhou is less than 24 hours, you don't need a visa then.
