Perth to Rome with a stop over in Guangzhou

Hi,
I’ll be stopping in Guangzhou in December and would like to stay for 2 days.
I’m booking with an online travel agent and will fly China southern.
Is this transit/temporary visa easy to get or do we need documents etc..
Thanks

If the trip would be country A-Guangzhou-country B, you can apply 72h twov in Guangzhou, and no visa will be needed.
