About:Shanghai - Hangzhou High Speed Train

Hyatt Regency West Lake Hangzhou day trip to Shanghai

Which Hangzhou train station is closest to Hyatt Regency West Lake as I wish to do a day trip to Shanghai taking the High speed train. Can I buy tickets on the travel day?

The closest station is Hangzhou Railway Station which is also called Chengzhan Station by local people. You can use metro line 1 or by taxi. You can buy the ticket on the travel date but it would be better if you check the availability more often when the date is approaching.

Which Shanghai Station should I get off which is located downtown in the urban district? I note from the train map : Shanghai / Shanghai Hongqiao and not many trains stop at Shanghai station.

Is it easy to get taxi from Shanghai Hongqiao to the city and how far away is Hongqiao station to the city? Would traffic be busy around noon time?

Indeed, most of the rides go to Hongqiao Station. It is not hard to get taxi. YOu can also use metro line 2. If you travel non time, the traffic should not be too bad. To the city center area, it may need around 45min.
