About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

144 hours in Shanghai with two different carriers

Hi

We're looking to do this:

1. Fly in to Shanghai from Tokyo with Peach Air
2. 144 hours or less later, fly out to Moscow and on to Amsterdam with Aeroflot

We'd only be able to show a reservation confirmation (non-refundable) for aeroflot to the customs officials upon arrival (as proof we'll be leaving again) as we'd not be able to check in for tickets that early.

Would this work? Is there something we forgot?

Thanks!

The routing is fine for transit without visa and you won't have any problems on arrival in Shanghai. The only potential difficulty could arise at Tokyo airport with Peach, where you might meet an agent unfamiliar with twov since Japanese nationals don't require a visa for stays of 15 days in China. Better to arrive a little earlier at the airport just in case.

OK thank you! Can you just confirm we do not need a confirmed seat number and that a ''booking confirmation'' (non refundable) instead of an actual ticket will suffice? We doubt Aeroflot will be able to provide an actual ticket (i.e. boarding card) 6 days in advance.

Thanks again - looking foward to hearing from you again!

You just print out your confirmed eticket. You don't need your boarding pass. "Confirmed seat" just means that you can't fly stand-by.
