About:China Visa Exemption

72 hr visa. Can I visit places other than Guangzhou during this 72 hr period?

I am an Australian citizen. If I have a three day transit in Guangzhou (less than 72 hrs) on my way from Sydney to Delhi, can I get a free entry in China?
