About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, Frankfurt - Shanghai - Hong Kong - Shanghai - Frankfurt

We are planning to make this itinerary. Flying in from Germany to Shanghai with a ticket to Hong Kong. Planning to stay in Shanghai a couple of days. Then, back home to Germany via Shanghai.

Do we get free transit? How many hours, 72 or 144?
Just adding that we are unsure because our trip is
*Frankfurt - Shanghai - Hong Kong
*Hong Kong - Shanghai - Frankfurt
Which means that we are returning to Shanghai from Hong Kong, but with a 3rd country destination

You are able to use the 144h free transit in Shanghai in both ways. Nice trip.
