About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Confused about transit visas

We are UK passport who are flying in to Shanghai and then the next day boarding a cruise ship to Singapore. Just checking we would be eligible for the 144 transit visa on arrival. Please confirm this. Thanks from a very confused traveller.

it's not a transit visa, it's a "transit without visa".

And yes, you're eligible to use it.

Well, it depends on your exact itinerary. If your next port of call is not in China, and your itinerary does not contain a stop in China that's not a transit (such as Korea-China-Korea, which is a common one), then you will qualify for transit without visa (assuming your passports are from one of the 53 qualifying countries).
