I have asthma and was wondering if I will need an air filter or face mask in China in December?

I have asthma and was wondering if I will need an air filter or face mask in China in December? If so, do you have any suggestions on the type or brand?

In China, the smog usually is heavy in winter time. So I suggest you bring some face masks in case. you can either prepare it in your home before you come to China or buy it in the drugstores or supermarkets on arrival.
