About:Chinese New Year

Visit Beijing, Jilin and Harbin from 19 Dec to 9 Jan 19. Use trains.

Will trains be crowded because Chinese New Year?
From 19 Dec to 9 Jan 2019, Will the High Speed trains in China be crowded due to exodus of people going homes for their Chinese New Year Celebration which falls on 5 Feb 2019. TQ

Well, at that time, it hasn't entered into the transportation of the Spring Festival, which will start from Jan. 21. So it may be a little crowded but not as much as you imagined.
