About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Connecting flight. Hello, I have a French passport.

I will be transiting in Shanghai, China going to New York. However it is not a connecting flight, I have to pick my luggage at the Shanghai Airport and check-in for the second flight. What kind of visa will I need ?

As long as your travel route would be France-Shanghai-New York, you can apply for the free transit in Shanghai. No need to worry about the separate tickets.
