About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

MNL to PVG to ORD

My family and I will be traveling from Manila to Chicago via a planned 3 day stopover in Shanghai. We all carry USA passports, however, our flight will originate in Manila. Are we eligible for the 144hr free transit?
