Seat choice chengdu to Chongqing

On the high speed trains from Chengdu to Chongqing, does the passenger choose seat assignments in 2nd class?

You can choose prefered seat like A, B, C, D or F, but the final seats are still assigned by the railway system. If there are still many seats left, they may give your prefered seats. If less seats left, it may just assigned them randomly.
