About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Ok to travel on transit visa if you have regular visa (that has been lost)?

I'm scheduled to travel to Beijing from Hong Kong in a few hours, and I cannot find my China entry permit. I'm a US citizen, so I'm eligible for the free transit. My question is whether I can obtain the transit visa if I have another active 10-year entry permit that I am unable to produce. Does having the 10-year preclude me from using the transit (provided I satisfy the other requirements of travel within 72 hours, etc.)? Thank you.

The fact that you don't have the passport with the visa in it means that you do not have any valid Chinese visas at the moment. Also there's no conflict to use TWOV with a valid visa.
