About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Gothenburg-Shanghai-HK-Shanghai-Munich

My boyfriend holds a Swedish visa and would like to visit Hangzhou as well as Hong Kong. The route is planned as the question summary. Does that qualify for 2x144h in Hangzhou (i.e. before and after visiting Hong Kong)?

Yes, but only if he holds a Swedish passport (or a passport from one of the other listed 52 countries).
