Visa Beijing. What visa is required uk passport holder ?

UK - DXB - PEK - one night hotel - cruise to Japan (Okinawa)-Philippines-tawiwan-hongkong-Singapore -fly back to UK

You will qualify for 24/144 hours transit without visa at PEK if that is your only stop in China.

You don't get a choice. It depends on the length of your stay. If your transit is more than 24 hours, you will be granted 144 hours. If it's less, then you'll be given 24 hours.
