Has anyone used the 144hr visa Free to board a Cruise Ship

Hi has anyone used the 144hr free transit to board Royal Caribbean Cruise ?
Flying uk - dubai - Beijing - Japan (cruise) was there any trouble boarding the planes without a visa to start
