About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What visa will I need ?

Flying form UK to Beijing Via 2 hour stop in dubai, and boarding cruise the day after heading for Japan.
There is some confusion as to the 2 hour stop in dubai and if it stops you getting the 144hr twov can you tell me if I will need the full visa ?
Some websites say the flight from uk has to be non stop to qualify for this twov?

UK-Dubai-Beijing-Japan is fine for applying the 144h twov in Beijing.

So if the policy your allowed to have the short stop in dubai, but if it was two stops in china it would void it as there is some confusion.
It states online that the uk to Beijing flight should be non stop ?

Only the stops immediately before and after China are relevant. You are seen as arriving from UAE, not UK. Two stops in China limits you to 24 hours direct transit.
