About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Hi 24 hour visa free transit

I will take cruise to Japan, Korea, Shanghai port. I will go to Pudong airport from Shanghai port and fly to Canada the same day I arrive to Baoshan - Shanghai port. Do I qualify for 24 hour or 72 hour free transit? The cruise told me to apply for visa. I am not sure they are correct. Thank you.

I think you qualify for the free transit policy in Shanghai, and there is no need to apply for visa for that trip.

What do we have to do when we arrive to Shanghai? Do we inform the cruise personnel, Shanghai port officer, or Airport officer or Airline personel?

You need to inform the cruise company in advance that you want to use the free transit in Shanghai, and show the tickets and passports at the immigration counter upon arrival to apply for the free transit.
